Our Legacy and Sustainability plan

The Paris 2024 organising committee has set out to establish a new model for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, pledging to deliver an ambitious, spectacular, universal event that is more responsible, more sustainable, more united and more inclusive. The Paris 2024 Games provide a unique opportunity to create momentum for a new social project. Promoting the development of innovative solutions and fast-tracking sustainable transformations are two radically different examples of how we strive to build a forward-looking project that reflects who we are.

Establishing the social and environmental legacy of the Games

This aim guides everything we do. From the bidding phase, we positioned legacy and sustainability at the heart of our project in line with Olympic Agenda 2020, the strategic road map for the future of the Olympic movement. Signing a social charter with social partners, aligning with the Paris Agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and organising the Olympic and Paralympic Week (OPW) are just a few examples of steps we took to begin realising our ambition as of 2017, seven years out from the Games.
